Cass Associates hand over the first project to be completed under the Prescot Townscape Heritage Initiative
Work is complete on 40, High Street, the first project to be completed under the five –year, £4 million grant-aided initiative to revitalise Prescot town centre through the restoration and repair of key historic buildings.
Cass associates acted as client’s agent, architect, contract administrator and planning consultant on the project. Once a Georgian townhouse, the property is now a ground floor retail unit with two floors of rented accommodation above.
The project included major structural repairs, extensive restoration of facing brick and stonework and new timber shop fronts designed in accordance with heritage principles. Throughout the programme Cass Associates worked in close liaison with the THI and local authority conservation officer to ensure conservation standards of construction were adhered to.
Cass Associates has now been appointed to submitted two further THI grant applications both of which have achieved Stage 1 approval.
