Work has started at Nestle UK’s coffee factory in Derbyshire. Cass Associates provides planning and landscape design advice on this major industrial infrastructure project.

The significant expansion of the factory at Hatton will allow for the consolidation of all coffee production in the UK on one site.

The new development will provide around 30,000 square metres of additional process and warehousing space

“With a range of new developments at the Hatton factory, for the first time all forms of the coffee production including freeze dried, spray dried and pod technology will be brought together on one site. There is a commitment to create a world class coffee manufacturing facility which is likely to employ around 900 people by 2015. The effective and efficient handling of a range of complex planning matters has been critical to bringing the new project forward”
