Cass Associates’ Landscape Architects have been appointed to work with the Forestry Commission Scotland and the Cairngorms National Park Authority on masterplans for a new visitor hub at Glenmore.
Feasibility and masterplanning options are already underway – and following steering group discussions and detailed site analysis, concept ideas are being developed for visitor facilities and improvements to access routes, traffic and car parking as well as addressing the variety of building styles there. Preferred options will be shortlisted before a decision is taken to progress the project to the next stage.
Located between Aviemore and the mountainous Cairngorms massif, the area, which includes a forest bowl, is known for the wide range of landscape and recreational experiences on offer; from the natural setting and seclusion of the Rothiemurchus and Glenmore forests to the rugged, remote mountains; and from the farmed setting of the River Spey to the dramatic spectacular views from the beach at Loch Morlich.
