Cass Associates are delighted to have been honoured with a prestigious BAE Systems Chairman’s Award.
The BAE Bronze award was presented in recognition of work carried out at the Radway Green Real Estate Transformation in the Chairman’s Total Performance Culture Category.
The project involved delivery of a new £83m building at Radway Green, Cheshire, which will become the centre of excellence for Small Arms Ammunition in the UK. The new building transforms the original Royal Ordnance Factory at Radway Green into a modern, safe, highly automated, energy efficient and flexible facility.
With 24,000 sq m of floor space, the building will meet the requirements of the Munitions Acquisition and Supply Solution (MASS) contract between BAE Systems and the UK Ministry of Defence (MOD) for the next 15 years.
Cass Associates assisted BAE Systems in securing outline and detailed planning consents and discharging conditions, together with a landscape and ecological strategy for the provision of a wildflower area and the management of earthworks on site. Also involved in delivery of the project for BAE Systems were Shepherd Construction and Aegis.
The BAE Systems Chairman’s Awards, established in 1996, recognises ideas, actions and behaviours that support and further the company’s aims and values.
Nominations for the Total Performance Culture Category reflect engagement with and promotion of BAE Systems’ culture of ‘total performance, with winners rewarded for their efforts in representing the company’s commitment to maintaining a culture that promotes positive values in every aspect of its business.
Cass Associates are also assisting BAE Systems in the long-term masterplanning of surplus land available due to the reorganisation of the site as a result of the construction of the new manufacturing facility. This involves the promotion of up to 20 hectares of land for new development
