Cass Associates have submitted two applications for Planning Permission in Principle, on behalf of BAE Systems, for the delivery of a further 1,350 dwellings in Dargavel Village, Renfrewshire.
The development is located on the former Royal Ordnance Factory Bishopton, one of the largest brownfield sites in Scotland. One application seeks to extend the North West Neighbourhood to deliver an additional 350 dwellings. The other application is for the use of land within the Core Development Area to deliver 1,000 homes on land previously identified for industrial use.
Cass Associates, who have been lead planning, masterplanning and landscape designers for this regeneration project for over 15 years, will continue to monitor and manage the applications through to determination.
Graham Trewhella, Partner at Cass Associates, said:
“This is one of the most important regeneration projects in the Glasgow City Region. It is based on the sustainable principles of recycling previously used land and ensuring that new development is highly accessible for all modes of travel. The new housing now proposed will consolidate the portion of Dargavel Village as a focal point for growth and will be supported by the significant investment in new infrastructure.”
